Sheikh Yaser Birjas is a renowned scholar, speaker, and community leader with a background in Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh). After completing his Islamic studies at the Islamic University of Madinah, he became widely known for his engaging teaching style and practical approach to Islamic law and personal development. Currently serving as the Imam at Valley Ranch Islamic Center in Texas, Sheikh Yaser is also a popular speaker at AlMaghrib Institute, where he delivers impactful seminars on topics related to family law, ethics, and spirituality. His talks often focus on building better personal and community relationships grounded in Islamic principles.
Sheikh Dr. Hasan Abunar is an esteemed Islamic scholar and educator with a deep foundation in Quranic exegesis (Tafseer) and Islamic jurisprudence (Sharia). He has served as one of the Imams at Masjid Al-Aqsa Al-Mubarak during Taraweeh prayers, a position of great honor in the Muslim world. His expertise extends to the field of Quranic recitation and competitions, where he was awarded First Place in Jordan’s Quran Recitation Competition in 1988, representing Jordan in the Makkah International Quran Competition in 1989, where he was recognized as the best Qari. In 2010, he was selected as one of the five judges for the Dubai International Quran Competition, further showcasing his excellence in the field of Quranic studies.
Yousef Hussin was born and raised in the United States. He traveled to Egypt, where he studied at Al-Azhar University for a time along with studying various Islamic sciences with scholars outside the university. He earned a B.A. and an M.A. in Islamic Studies from the Islamic University of Minnesota. He is currently pursuing another degree in the faculty of Shariah at the Islamic University of Medina.
He has received numerous ijazat (licenses), including an ijazah in several modes of Qur’anic recitation from Sheikh Waleed Al-Meneese and Sheikh Sherzaad Tahir. He studies the modes of recitation at the Qur’an Academy in Sharjah. He teaches with Zidni Islamic Institute. Previously an imam in Sacramento, he is currently an imam at the Muslim Community of Folsom.
