An Evening of Inspiration

This evening will feature a selection of esteemed guests who will share their unique insights on the importance of building a vibrant community. They will inspire us to move forward with wisdom and purpose as we bring the vision of our new building to life.

Sheikh Abdullah Oduro

Abdullah Oduro was born in Arlington, Texas and raised in Houston, TX. He converted to Islam in 1997 while working as a Surgical Technologist. In 1999, he was accepted to the Islamic University of Al-Madinah, Saudi Arabia. He had the privilege of learning under numerous scholars from various sciences and graduated from the faculty of Islamic Law 2007, then a year later he was able to complete his memorization of the Quran. Since then he has worked with many Islamic organizations such as Yaqeen, Bayyinah, KnewU, and now is serving as the Imam at the Islamic Center of Coppell in Dallas, TX.

Ustadha Hina Khan-Mukhtar

Ustadha Hina Khan-Mukhtar is an educator, writer, and speaker whose work focuses on marriage, parenting, family life, and nurturing faith in children. She is a co-founder of ILM Tree, a homeschooling cooperative in Lafayette, California, and has taught Language Arts to elementary, middle, and high school students.

She has contributed to The Muslim Observer and SeekersGuidance, sharing practical guidance on raising children and building spiritually grounded homes. She is also involved in interfaith dialogue and is known for her warm, relatable presentations that connect Islamic values with the everyday experiences of Muslim families.

Deya Elghassein

A well-known community leader and a long-time resident of the greater Sacramento area. He has been an integral part of our community’s history for many years, and he is a passionate supporter of our mission to build a lasting legacy.
