Tahir Wyatt is a senior researcher, lecturer, and instructor of Islamic studies and comparative religion. During his twenty-one years of studying and teaching in Saudi Arabia, he procured several degrees, including a doctorate in aqidah. He was also the only American ever to be appointed to teach in the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, the second holiest site in the Muslim world. Dr. Wyatt currently lectures both nationally and internationally at mosques, universities, and other institutions of learning. He serves as the Director of Research Quality Assurance for Yaqeen Institute, the Executive Director of the United Muslim Masjid in Philadelphia, and is the President and Co-Founder of the Quran, Arabic, and Reflection Institute (QARI), an institute dedicated to structured, curriculum-based instruction of the Quran and Arabic Language. He is passionate about building bridges within the Muslim community and sharing the light of Islam with non-Muslims.
Sheikh Zahed Fetteh is a dedicated Imam with a strong background in both Islamic sciences and academic studies, specializing in Islamic law and the Hadith tradition. After memorizing the Qur’an, he earned an LLB in Law from the University of Birmingham. He then pursued a BA in Islamic Law from the European Institute of Human Sciences and an MA in Islamic Studies from Newman University (Markfield Institute). He is currently a PhD researcher at Swansea University.
Imam Zahed has completed two years of Ifta specialization in Hanafi Fiqh and holds ijazas in various Islamic disciplines, particularly Hadith. He has studied at Dar al-Hadith in Algeria and spent over a decade learning traditional Islamic sciences from scholars in the UK. He currently serves as the Imam of the Muslim Community of Folsom.
Dr. Mohammed Najeeb has a Bachelors degree in Sharia (Islamic Law) from the esteemed Islamic University of Medinah. He also has a Masters and PhD from the College of Quran in the same University. He has Ijazat in the 10 modes of recitation from Sh. Ihab Fikri, muqri’ in the Prophet’s Masjid, and has studied with many top scholars in Saudi Arabia. Dr. Mohammed has taught Qira’at and Quranic sciences in the Islamic University of Medinah, and is currently an Imam in Sacramento, CA.
A well-known community leader and a long-time resident of the greater Sacramento area. He has been an integral part of our community’s history for many years, and he is a passionate supporter of our mission to build a lasting legacy.
